what cam, intake, exhaust, tb, mass air, etc? All that play a role in what you numbers end up being. Also a good tune up with a shortblock in good condition will also affect how the engine performs.Originally posted by marcs95gt View PostHow would this combo improve with a set of afr 165's? That's what head I have and would love that torque,
AFR 165 are an awesome and proven bad ass, just need the correct parts around them to work their best.

I wanted to know if you think the numbers would improve if he used afr 165 on it intead of what he used. And how much hp & tq increaseOriginally posted by Blackpony View Postwhat cam, intake, exhaust, tb, mass air, etc? All that play a role in what you numbers end up being. oh gotcha. I doubt it. He has a nice set of ported heads. They flow much more then what a set of afr 165's do, the only thing i am unsure of is how the port job was performed, as to how velocity was affected. If it is a nice job, then no. Typically you would see a little more hp, but as mentioned it was extremely hot that day, so with a little better air conditions, he should see close to 300 wheel hp. his torque is great and exactly what you will typically see on a proper combo. There are 2 things I can see that might help a little, is adding about 5 degrees more duration on the intake side and bumping compression to around 11:1. With those two changes, he should see probably 330-340 hp and equal torque. Although he has built this for boost, so this is a perfect setup that can be built on a budget with great results.Originally posted by marcs95gt View PostI wanted to know if you think the numbers would improve if he used afr 165 on it intead of what he used. oh i see.Originally posted by Blackpony View PostId rather have this combo.. almost 40 more tq to the tires, and keep in mind, this was all done in almost 100 degree heat along with 20% humidity... Get it in 70 degree temps, and i bet it makes close to 300 hp to the tires..
enjoy and let us know if you need anything!!

It's an older kit. It's on3's turbo before they had on3 stamped into the discharge casting. I think it'll do around 430-450 myself.1972 F100
