  • Fabbing an intake tube

Now that I've got my back taken care of, its time to take care of some issues with my truck, getting it cleaned up and running better. One project I've wanted to tackle for some time is a new intake. I've got a 2003 S-10 with a 2.2L 4 cyl in it. If you aren't familiar with these things, the intake takes a LONG path from TB-Filter

I'm wanting to come, from the TB (behind the big box that says 2200 on it) between the intake and a/c compressor, and over to the air box on the driver's side.

I can get some cheap chrome intake on e-bay for $30, or I can build it myself. I would prefer black couplers and black powder coated pipe, which is why I'm thinking DIY.

Where is a good/best/cheapest source for silicone couplers and pipe?

You're going to rack up some cash in that intake just for the TuTu. I'd get the eBay crap, scuff the pipe and spray it with engine enamel if you want it all black.

If you want to make it yourself. Hit up Stan at Fast-Turbo.com in Haslet. He should have everything you need.

Is that on your truck? It is looking like that will be the route I take. ~$30 vs ~$130 for a custom intake. Once I got brackets welded on, etc. I may still need a coupler as I plan to keep the factory air box and just open it up. Trying to keep a clean factory appearance
