She supposedly made an announcement in the last bracket race and said this was it. They couldn't afford it anymore. You know how rumors are though, I hope it's not true as it's less then 10 miles from my house.

For what it's worth, I spoke with Sammy, his wife and the owner ( Sandy??) Was told the track is for sale, she doesn't want it but neither does the bank. LOL nobody wants it. She said that it will remain open and running and is not going anywhere unless somebody was to buy it and then close it down but she couldn't see that happening due to whoever buys it obviously WANTS a race track?

Good news because I like the place and it gives me an IHRA track to race at locally.

That's great news, I like having a top notch facility in my backyard. The only people I see buying it is the Perot family. They would close it down.

Hey this is probably a long shot but thought I'd throw it out there? A couple weeks ago (8/27) we raced Saturday night and I left my jr. dragster starter out there by mistake. I didn't realize it until the next time we needed it which was 2 weeks later. I called and nobody turned one in and they didn't know of it being there. Last week I personally drove over to the storage buildings and fuel shed and looked myself, I asked the guy who drives around picking up trash, starting line crew and staging lane guy and nobody has seen it. You don't know of anybody who would have test and tuned the next friday (9/2 or 9/3) and might have remembered seeing a starter laying around in the lanes or anywhere would you? I really think I left it laying in the pits if anywhere.

Going to have a hell of a time selling it if there is an environmental issue with the state.
