I think they do that shit for one of two reasons -to perfect the ballast on all 4 corners or to shorten the length the fuel has to move - The technology is amazing in those cars.

so he was too cheap to wrap the cell in kevlar to protect it from heat and flying bits? Would have saved him about $100k....

Hell, just a heat shield in thin stainless or something?

hell if I know man, the cell appears to be made of metal at least - but I'd venture a guess to say that Kevlar might not have stopped that wheel
from puncturing the cell.. idk.
