Minaml gains?!? 30rw hp through the range is very far from minaml gains on a bolton car. On fi cars, we gain 100rw over pump gas all the time. We have even made huge gains over c16. For gas that's 2dollars a gallon...its a miracle fuel for powerfull cars. And its doesn't use twice as much...its more like 25per to 30per. But most cars that we install it on make 700rw plus...so the allure of full power all the time far out weighs any mpg concerns.

That's why I asked why put it on a car that's stock with bolt ons!?! 30 hp is alot but not enough for the cost I guess. Obviously they have plans to go with some type of FI later right?
Unless you don't change the fuel system and it's that easy. I don't know enough about it, that's why I'm asking you.Doing enough racing for 99% of the board!

X2 Most cars that use E85 are FI cars that make a lot of hp and I don't think any of them give a rats ass about MPG if that was the case they would be driving a hybrid. The e85 swap was super hard. We had to drive 2 miles to the kroger on hebron. We then filled up a gas jug with 2.00 a gallon gas. Then we had to strap the car on the dyno and tune it. So for 10 dollars in gas and 1hr on the dyno, we gained 30 rwOriginally posted by OrangeChevyII View PostThat's why I asked why put it on a car that's stock with bolt ons!?! 30 hp is alot but not enough for the cost I guess. for high hp cars, you do have to have a good fuel system....but the 2011gts have a very good one from the factory...they can support 600rw in stock form. So we gained 30rw for 10bucks..not to bad in my book

I also tune a 06 z06 on e85. Stock bottomend, custom cam, longtubes, stock exhaust, ported heads and a fast 102 intake. Car makes 660rw all motor, and 800rw on a 125 shot.its one of the highest rw z06's in the country with a stock bottomend on motor

Not bad at all, I was under the impression you had to change everything to convert it over on the 5th gen cars. Their fuel systems suck when you make boosted power.Originally posted by Cmarsh View PostThe e85 swap was super hard. We had to drive 2 miles to the kroger on hebron. On the vette that's nice, I honestly don't know why we didn't use E85 on the car.

Stock fuel pump and all? Wow, impressive. Is that 600rw figure assuming use of gasoline? Thus if using E85 its more like 480ish rw?Originally posted by Cmarsh View Postbut the 2011gts have a very good one from the factory...they can support 600rw in stock form. winter blend is E70 which is 105 octane most places that sell E85 which is 109 octane don't switch to E70 in winter because it isn't needed it doesn't get cold enough around here.Originally posted by TINKRD View Postwhat's the variance on winter vs summer blends on the E85? i would assume that the tune is safe enough for the difference.03 Dark Shadow Grey Mach1

E85 burns slower than gasoline, hence the additional timing advance required. It takes more of it to produce the same amount of power, so the fuel system has to flow much more of it than gasoline. That's why fuel mileage decreases significantly.Originally posted by OrangeChevyII View PostCorrect me if I am wrong please.
E85 burns twice as fast as gasoline right? So if your getting minaml power gains like that, what's the advantage on a stock car w/ no type of FI?
And great numbers!
