Everyone knows it takes $5K..."Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

you also had a gen 1, right? what all was done to it?
my mom has a real clean gen 1 currently that i'm about to swap all the mounts over to the creative steel units. she loves it, but the shifter is terrible (already put the upgraded shifter bushing in it).

Thanks manOriginally posted by Pro88LX View Postcongrats Will!
Yes sir I had an 09. It was a built 414, direct port, big cam, all that good stuff. That car sucked! It broke all the time. The Gen 1's and Gen 2's are so different its not even a fair comparison. This is my 3rd CTS-VOriginally posted by dville_gt View Postdamn, can't keep up with all your rides!

ya, the 6 lug was a strange choice by gm. she still loves her v1 though, i may try to get her to upgrade to a v2 at some point, but this car has been great for 80k miles plus i'm not sure she'd enjoy the reduction in fuel economy for 150 more hp she'll never use!Originally posted by Junkie View PostI broke every drive line part, not just the rear. Congrats Will!
EPA ratings are only 1mpg less (14 vs. 15 in city) and in a lot of cases the V2s actually get better mileage.Originally posted by dville_gt View Postya, the 6 lug was a strange choice by gm. she still loves her v1 though, i may try to get her to upgrade to a v2 at some point, but this car has been great for 80k miles plus i'm not sure she'd enjoy the reduction in fuel economy for 150 more hp she'll never use!

she averages ~22mpg mixed driving (hand calculated) with her v1, they show the v2 to do 14/18 (then again they show hers doing 14/23 so who knows). she just took it to st. louis and got ~26mpg average both ways.Originally posted by SVT Lurch View PostCongrats Will!
