Depends on what you want from the car. I have a 5.3 in my garage and just bought an 85 capri that's pretty much bone stock. By the time I buy all the random junk it takes to convert it I might as well just have a hci 302. Probably be faster than the 5.3 i have too.

The 5.3 will make more power for less. But I understand your point about the supporting hardware.

I might be interested in the 5.3 Kyle if you can cut me a deal on it. I got a 4.8 in my new Lawn truck & really want a 5.3 & from what I understand its just a motor swap. Everything that plugs in to the 4.8 should plug in the 5.3, Just curious as to what year the 5.3 is. Some make more power then ohers & I want a at least a 02 5.3 & up!

My girls 04 Tahoe has the 5.3 & her Tahoe gets up & moves

Not sure. Probably park it for a while and figure something out with it in the Spring. There is an armada of mustangs over here now. Both bays of the shop are full front to back and one on the lift.

Not sure exactly what year it is. It's an iron block 5.3. 600 bucks and I will throw in a zo6 cam in with it.
