Stock '03 Mach on Mike's Hoosiers. It has catback and 4.10s and that's it.

It'll run better once I get my exhaust leak fixed by installing my kooks and putting in some strange 10-ways to replace my blown factory rears.
It'll run better when I can drive better too...lol

I think if you want to run in the 7s you will need to get tubular control arms, front struts and rear shocks. You're only getting a 1.79 60ft.

With a proper set up and aggressive launch a low 1.6 should be attainable.

Yup. Next time I'm gonna take out my seats and random items in the car. That, along with fixing my broken stuff, will hopefully help. I'll launch it harder too.

It definitely needs more gear. I would use a 4.30 though. Assuming you're using a 26" tire and the factory 1.32 third gear, you'd cross the traps around 64-6500rpm with the 4.30 and closer to 67-6800 with a 4.56. Only problem with that, after 6500 the stock mach intake has given up and takes a steep dive. The 4.30 would leave you just at the end of your powerband when you cross, giving more speed.

Longtubes with offroad x and dyno tune made significant gains on mine. An opened up and ported then welded back together lower manifold made a difference as well.

Run a 28" slick. More sidewall means mo betta!

Mo sidewall equals mo weight. I like to use the lightest wheel/tire combo that will get the job done. If OP had intentions of using a jug later on, a 28" tire isn't a bad idea.

Haha. I need to get a better launch and quicken my shifts, then I'll post it. I bet with some more practice (and at least replacement pieces for my broken items) I could make it run an 8.1 or 8.0 flat. That was my fourth or fifth pass that I've ever made with this car, or any real pass for that matter. Most of the time I'm there with something for shits 'n' giggles with no tire at all.

mine actually ran slower with 4.56's. First gear just wasted tenths.
