no you still have to cross the line fisrt. but a slower car could beat a better E.T. with a better reaction time.Originally posted by Shaggin Wagon View PostSo in theory, the light turns green and the other guy can take off. You can sit there till he crosses the finish then take off. If you get light to light faster than him, you would win?Doug

depends on the kind of racing youre doing. some go by ETs, some go by who crosses first.Originally posted by Shaggin Wagon View PostEh, a little confusing. I figured like street racing (That I've heard), The first one to the line wins and thats it.
reaction time will not affect your actual elapsed time and MPH. the timer doesnt start until you move. dont even worry about when you hit the gas if it's your first time.

Others have said it, but your first time out just focus on all the little things you need to get used to before you really start worrying about your actual times, shift points, launch RPM's, etc. Just launch at 2 - 3k for now. It's going to seem really hectic the first few times, pullng up, cleaning the tires off, staging, and that tree is going to start before you least expect it. Remember, you don't have to launch right at green to still get an accurate time. Your time doesn't start until you leave the line so take your time and get comfortable.
Once you get a little comfortable with the process start focusing on lanching and shifting.
The best thing you can do is have someone with more experience ride with you the first couple of times. They can walk you through everything.

I'm thinking the 1st across the line is the winner. The faster person from point to point is bracket racing I believe.Originally posted by Jaison View Postdepends on the kind of racing youre doing. some go by ETs, some go by who crosses first.

The first person to the line is the winner. And even in bracket racing they delay the start on the faster car to make it the same. But the point is the first few times out you don't need to worry about winning a race. Your main focus shoudl be getting used to runnign on the track and doing so safely. Once you get a little stressed or feel rushed you can easily make a mistake and damage your car, hurt yourself, or even hurt others. All we are saying is until you get used to the process don't worry about actually "racing".Originally posted by Shaggin Wagon View PostI'm thinking the 1st across the line is the winner.
