As if no one saw this coming, but Deron Williams picked the Nets. Does Dallas even have enough players left to field a team at this point?

Now Terry is gonna leave, I'm sorry but I guarantee this will be the worst mavs team we have seen in years. I have season tickets and I'm losing any urge to even wanna be in the arena...
He is getting cheap (by NBA standards) and as long as the arena stays packed on game night then he will continue to be punked by all these owners not scared to get into luxury taxes.

mavs are going to suuuuuuuuck this season if Deron Williams stays with the nets and they also get D12. Cuban seems to just keep letting deals slip through his fingers and if I hear "cap space for next season" then I swear Im throwing away all my mavs gear.

hell, Ray Allen is already talking to Miami and the most they can offer is $3 mil. Boston can give him $6 mil but he is telling those around him that money is not of concern...

I bet he goes there. He knows the Mavs don't want him.

Yeah, I think Austin has a better rep for "social life" than Dallas....but that is just my opinion. I have lived here my whole life and love it but I have also been outside the "walls" of Dallas; we may have some of the things other places have to offer but we sure dont have the clientel (with class) and anyone with money around here is either old (not interested unless investing) or selling (trouble)...just my opinion.

Then again, maybe I need to get out more but besides strip clubs and bars...I am not sure what else we have to offer. Definitly cannot go to the beach nor do we have the diversity of NY...the youth of Miami...

    D. Will already does not want to come here because of his muching family, not sure what else we would be able to offer him other than an aging team and some money...

Not trying to be negative, just looking for a good argument against my stance so I can belive as everyone else does....

I have been to several places in the US and almost all of them seem to have a night life and several family events to take part in, not just "visit".

I think Dallas needs to liven up a little and get some attractions in here so we can compete with the Miami's, NY's and West Coast...if you notice, that is where all of the stars are at and its not because they pay more...

UPDATE [10:23 p.m. ET]: Bucher reported later on Monday that the Nets trade for Joe Johnson does not mean they are out of the running for Dwight Howard. Bucher reported that both the Nets and Mavericks are in play for a trade for Howard.

That didn't take long: now being told not to count out DH still making his way to the Nets. So list now is: 1.(Nets) Mavs.

I think d-will will stay with brooklyn and that is my assumption based off 105.3 and what they were saying. If Orlando does it, Howard might be going up there as well and that is only if they give in to his trade request. Plus, if there was blockbuster news, and he was already set, an announcment would have been made. Honestly, I feel D. Will is probably waiting to see what Brooklyn does before he says anything, which means he would not mind staying...bad news for us. Plus he has already stated that his family is a bunch of muchers and he would rather not have to deal with that...they ALL live here in DFW...

Would love to see Howard go to the Lakers though, he has always said he did not want to play in LA because of Shaq...

I was thinking of big guys that were available. Hebert would be nice but is he a free agent?
