the single guy logo is the international. those are just alright.

I thought I remembered something about the two guys. Good thing with Costco is their return policy. I have never heard of the Saber brand, but they seem like a nice set.

Like I said, as long as you're looking at sets that cover all the bases, forged, full tang (and both meet my criteria), etc, pick whatever is more comfortable in your hands. Personally, I'd go with the Henckels, out of the two sets you posted. But like I mentioned, I've got two sets of Henckels, and have no complaints with either one. I would like the blades to be a little thicker, but I hone my knives every time I pull them out of the block, so it's really not an issue.

I am looking for a set of knives right now, and while I would love a high end set, they are just not in the budget right now. I did however come across these two sets and am trying to decide between the two.

I have never heard of these myself.....

Love my Henckel's, especially for the money.

Yep. It's all in what a person's time is worth, and given that he doesn't have a whole lot of time left, I can understand the premium. And of course, supply and demand come in to play. He and his helper can only make so many a year, and they have more of a market than they can even serve.

This is a lost art, really. I can't think of another person like him, that has the grasp on that craft like he does. A dying breed for sure. It is definitely some cool shit. I want a set, but realistically, I just want to get my hands on a 10" Chef's knife before he checks out. I'd be happy with that.

There are cheap Henkels too, but that does not appear to be one of them.

Henkel has a warranty, just looked it up...

Submit a warranty claim? Please be kind enough to address the return to our Zwilling J.A. Henckels warranty department.

Tools of the trade, my friend! For a Chef, or even aspiring Chef, it makes perfect sense. Look at the absurd amounts of money mechanics have tied up in tools and toolboxes. When I've got $20k or so to blow, I'll bite the bullet. A Chef using Kramers would likely never have to buy another knife in their lifetime.

To the OP, I would also send a letter. I use cheap shit and have never had a knife break like that and Im using some old no name crap that my parents gave me when I moved out over 10 years ago.

And HIGHLY unlikely that you can even get a full set. Due to the amount of time it takes to manufacture, and the fact that he's a one man show, and the demand for his knives, you have to get on a lottery list to even get one. And even then, you're not guaranteed to get anything. Or you can bid via private auction on his site.
