Those programs are funded by the other 53ish percent and, basically, you're saying that since they make more money... they should pay even more so that the ones who don't pay can continue NOT paying but still getting handouts?

Ah, another person who failed to read the links I posted. If you had, you'd have seen that only about 10% of the 47% not paying federal income taxes are paying zero taxes and taking welfare checks. The other 37% are middle class (~$50k/yr) families that don't pay the federal income tax due to tax credits. They still pay other federal taxes as well as state and local taxes.

I like this idea, but we have to go further and say if you're on welfare, you're on a works program working for that welfare check. Think of the New Deal one. You go in 40 hours a week for training and working and you get your welfare check. It has a time limit that you can use it and once you use it, you're done.
