Its HARDER being a minority and not being able to reap the benefits. Ive applied for "non-minority" scholarships and always came up empty handed. I guess my good grades weren't good enough. Or maybe I wasn't poor enough? I tell ya, the middle class always gets screwed. The only way you can get help around here is if you're really poor or really rich.

Can a Natural Born citizen with Messcan heritage be fed up with the freebies too? It's not just white boys. I'm labeled as a minority in many ways but the one that makes me stand out the most is being a Republican in the cliff.

There are tons of scholarships offered by hispanic business-people for hispanics here in Texas. A lot of them aren't known about except through different departments at schools. UT has a shitload of money available through private donors/businesses. Technically, of course, it's not UT money. My daughter got scholarship money through UT/McCombs that was not publicized at all, except in certain departments. All tax-payers are getting it stuck off in our collective asses, race aside.Originally posted by BigTitan21 View PostCan a Natural Born citizen with Messcan heritage be fed up with the freebies too? It's funny: the only political contributions I've made this year, are to Cruz (here in Texas), Mia Love (black woman in Utah), and Col. West (black man in Florida).

I went to college on a full scholarship. It's much easier for a white, middle class female to get money than her male counterpart.Originally posted by Vertnut View PostThere are tons of scholarships offered by hispanic business-people for hispanics here in Texas. My oldest went on a full academic scholarship, but it was a private school., "scholarship" covers a lot of ground. Div.1 state schools (like UT) offer athletic scholarships, but for the most part, that's about it. Smaller schools (Div II, III, and NAIA) can offer a lot more. I should have stated that I was directing my experiences more to UT.Originally posted by Treasure Chest View PostI went to college on a full scholarship.
