The issue of aliens or God aside, when talking about these accomplishments, you have to consider first, the abilities of humans when they have determination and second, the mindset of primitive people.
Humans can train themselves to run for a hundred miles at a time. Or swim to crushing depths where their lungs fill with blood. Essentially the human mind can be trained to do amazing things and by that I mostly mean that it can be trained to ignore a lot of pain.
Second, primitive people thought their rulers were gods. In medieval England people were willingly put to death as part of their service to the king. Without resistance these people would put their head on a stump and have it cut off because they thought it was their duty as a subject of the King, who was the agent of God on Earth. Keep that in mind and then consider how primitive people that lived 2000 years before would have viewed the pharoah. Basically the pharoah would have been able to get even his regular subjects (not just the slaves) to do anything he commanded. I'm virtually certain that those people would have worked to the point where they literally fell over dead if he commanded it be done.
When you combine those two things you will realize how the pyramids could be built. Granted, this doesn't address the engineering side of the projects.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

Lol, tried to stay on topic. Even threw out a theory. But I knew it was only a matter of time before King would show up lol. Then it was just about killing some time and having a good laugh.Originally posted by mstng86 View PostHey, at least I was on topic. This thread went to hell in a handbasket when you two showed up.

I think that is the whole debate. The engineering side of it all. I watched a few of these Ancient Aliens shows and there was one that stood out.Originally posted by Broncojohnny View Post

They were looking at a stone, maybe granite, I don't remember, and they were trying to understand how the people were able to etch a foot into the stone perfect shapes and angles. The "professional" really couldn't explain it since we have nothing to really make that type of cut.
That being said, the "professionals" are what kind of make or break the idea. These guys may think this stuff is impossible by todays standards, but then I think they fail to realize, they are trying to equate it to todays technology, and you just can't do that.

True, I did get you in here with my alien stone masonry schtick, and you fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Doesn't matter if was you or someone else, I knew someone would get sidetracked. Thanks for playing the buffoon this time.Originally posted by Mychael101 View PostLol, tried to stay on topic. Even threw out a theory. I responded knowing you would do so in return and I could have a few laughs. You seem to take this far more seriously and personally than anyone else. Its just religion.....Originally posted by The King View PostTrue, I did get you in here with my alien stone masonry schtick, and you fell for it hook, line, and sinker. There are those that say that the sphinx has evidence of water errosion. It could be the case that it and the pyramids are much older then originally thought.Originally posted by mstng86 View PostI think that is the whole debate. The engineering side of it all. Pretty easy to see the enviroment taking over once a civilization came to a halt. Pretty much everything would disappear without a trace. Only things that would be left behind to examine would be the structures we talk about now.

The tools should have survived. Afterall, we are talking about the hardest substances known to man. Wind and rain won't make a dent in this type of stuff.Originally posted by Mychael101 View PostThere are those that say that the sphinx has evidence of water errosion. I kind of get the feeling our practices on dating is not accurate.

Where there is a will there is a way. Imagine that you have a guy and his only purpose in his entire life, for 30 years or however long he lives, is to carve a single block out of that stone because the pharoah says so. He'd figure out a way to do it. It isn't like he is going to go home and watch TV or stop to go to college. He'd find a way, even if it meant cutting into the stone by just rubbing his hands on it a billion times.Originally posted by mstng86 View PostI think that is the whole debate. No doubt they worked the people to death. Logistically though, it really doesn't add up in some instances. But what the hell do we know? We are just a modern grunt doing the Kings labor.Originally posted by Broncojohnny View PostWhere there is a will there is a way. Isnt that what your god is? An invisible spaceman? How is the theory that religions on Earth were bred by visitors from space any worse than what you believe in? The invisible and the non-existent look very much alike, you know. If God does exist and has the intention of sending everyone to eternal torture for not believing him him despite zero evidence of his existence then you can say the following about God: he may be all powerful but he's one cruel sadistic motherfucker and the idea that he is an all loving God is completely asinine.Originally posted by The King View PostThis is a thread about TV and spacemen iwhich everyone else posting therein, other than me, is taking seriously.
