True, the Protestants (the economic haves) generally favor British influence while the Catholics (the economic have-nots) generally oppose the British. Religion is simply being used as a rallying point for the opposing economic/political camps.

I haven't been arguing the religion angle at all. I'm just looking at it from their perspective, as wrong and flawed as that perspective may be, and as wrong and flawed as our own perspectives may be. I don't think the entire situation is as simply black and white as "Americans are infidels so we must kill them," or "All muslims are terrorists, we should just kill them all." Perhaps if the original post of the thread wasn't such a retarded grasp at sensationalism everyone could keep up with the discussion without getting frustrated.

So now we're adding ANOTHER scenario to this? What does this have to do with what we were originally talking about? FIrst it was argued that Islamic terrorism is the same as Christianity. Once that was proven false, then we talk about "well, Christianity of the past." After that didn't have anything to do with jack shit that is CURRENTLY going on, we talk about the bombing of abortion clinics. After I break down the reasoning as defending the defenseless and the violent acts limited to those directly linked to carrying out the innocent bloodshed, we talk about my personal preference, which again, has nothing to do with the facts.

So now we have to talk about this government's action compared to terrorism and its similarities with collateral damage compared to targeted civilian lives? What does that have to do with Christianity? This country hasn't done shit in the name of Christ in almost forever.

This is one of the many lies of Islam. If they had the same patriarch, why do Islamists scream "Allahu Ahkbar" before blowing themselves up? It translates to Allah is Greatest by the way..... could it be because the Judeo Christian God answers to a different name?

You'll find the Quran even instructs Muslims to lie to non believers. They are outright told to deceive. It's where the entire "religion of peace" argument generates from. What about Egypt today makes you think it is a religion of peace? Or Iraq? Or Iran, or Afganistan? Does that look like peace to you?

The patriarch to whom I referred was Abraham (formerly known as Abram), whose sons Isaac and Ishmael were the forebears of Judaism and Islam. Thus, Judaism and Islam do indeed share a common patriarch, or ancestor. That is no "lie of Islam" as you term it, rather it is recorded as such in the Old Testament Book of Genesis, which itself is part of the Hebrew Torah.
