A man claiming to be an escaped former interpreter with the Islamic State terror group has revealed unnerving details on the jihadis’ handling methods of high-profile foreign hostages.

In an interview with British network Sky News, the man describes that hostages in the group’s infamous beheading videos rarely knew they were about to die. Instead, he claims, they were deliberately told that they were just being filmed for a ransom video.

But the hostages were also manipulated into compliant obedience through “rehearsals” — mock executions. Surviving a near-death situation, the prisoners would gradually develop a false sense of security and become confident that their lives were in no immediate danger.

“Saleh’s” description matches other accounts by escaped hostages, in which IS treats its foreign captives with a mix of affection and hostility. According to the man, who uses the common Arabic name Saleh as an alias, some prisoners received Arabic nicknames — Japanese journalist Kenji Goto became “Abu Saad” — and were gently cajoled about becoming Muslims.

He also confirms recent claims that the masked, British-accented executioner called “Jihadi John” is Kuwaiti-born Mohammed Emwazi, describing him as the “big boss” whose job was killing all the group’s foreign hostages. He emphasizes that Emwazi was completely unafraid of killing foreigners and commanded great respect from the other militants.

By contrast, he says, a prisoner who was Syrian or another Arab was available to be executed by any militant. Only the valuable foreigners were treated with the caution he describes.

In Sky News’ video, “Saleh” speaks imperfect and accented English, occasionally interspersed with Arabic words as well as some Turkish (“prova” for “rehearsal” and “hemen” for “immediately”). The British network claims that it found him in a majority-Arab city in southern Turkey, near the border with Syria.

Why not use F18s from carriers?

If its a vehicle on those roads and its moving make it not move anymore.

We did it successfully in the 1st gulf war. Look up the Highway of Death. We just need to make a few new Highways of Death and ISIS will cease to operate with any efficiency at all. When they have to lug all their shit through the desert by hand they won't be nearly as effective.

Not to mention they will soon realize if I'm seen with a black flag in a vehicle, I'm dead. Death is the ultimate deterrent ask Patton.

The only thing that will stop them at this point is total annihilation. They cannot be bargained with, and there will be no treaty. They are trying to bring on WW3 and we will not be able to end it with a peaceful surrender like we did the first two times. You cannot work out peace with people who think if they kill you, they are doing their duty, but if they die, they become martyrs. In their eyes they win either way. Militant islam has to be literally beaten into submission by wiping it off the face of the earth. Peaceful muslims, if there are truly any, will be left if there really are any. In this instance, with this enemy, death is not a deterrent.

^^^^^ I saw that the other day. If possible I would save one last grenade and take out as many as I could. No way I would let them take me alive.

At this point I am not sure who is going to stop ISIS, everyone is too PC to do anything.

‘Save The Last Bullet For Yourself': SAS Will Not Be Taken Alive By ISIS

Elite British forces in the SAS have been told not to allow the Islamic State to take them alive, according to the Daily Star. Special Forces have been ordered to “fight to the last man” with commanders telling them “save the last bullet for yourselves”.

The SAS have been operating in ISIS-controlled territory for some time, but the new rules were issued after the brutal murder of a Jordanian pilot. Lieutenant Muath al-Kasaesbeh was burned alive earlier this month, after his plane was downed.

A source said: “The SAS have been told that if they are captured they can expect to be tortured before being beheaded, disembowelled or burned alive. They know there is virtually no chance of being rescued.

“Everyone taking part in the Iraq mission knows the risks. Most of the guys would never let themselves be taken prisoner – not by Islamic State (IS).”

As a result they will take their own lives if they are “surrounded and without hope of being rescued”. Commanders have warned the SAS it would be impossible to rescue them because the militants move prisoners daily.

They have suggested a “quick end is preferable to a long and painful death”. By killing themselves the SAS would also deny ISIS an important propaganda victory. The Islamic State have become famed for their well-produced but gruesome execution videos.

Victims are often forced to read out messages denouncing their country’s actions in the Middle East. In at least one case a hostage was forced to blame his own relatives for his beheading because they were in the American military.

If an SAS soldier was taken alive the source said he would expect the Royal Air Force to launch an airstrike against the building they were being held in. He said: “If you’re captured and can’t be rescued then you would want the RAF to come along and drop a very large bomb. A quick end is preferable to a long and painful death.”

The source also claimed that bombing any captured SAS soldier would be the “honourable thing to do”. Sources told the Daily Star Sunday that SAS troops have almost been captured on two occasions but managed to escape with the help of a US Reaper drone which halted a jihadi attack.

The source said: “As a member of the SAS you know that you are going to be executed by the enemy if you’re captured.

“That’s why we carry pistols. It’s our secondary weapon. But it also allows us the choice of topping ourselves when all hope has gone. Better that than giving away where your mates are operating.”

Islamic State in Syria abducts at least 150 Christians

(Reuters) - Islamic State militants have abducted at least 150 people from Assyrian Christian villages in northeastern Syria they had raided, Christian Syrian activists said on Tuesday.

A Syrian Christian group representing several NGO's inside and outside the country said it had verified at least 150 people missing, including women and elderly, who had been kidnapped by the militants.

"We have verified at least 150 people who have been adducted from sources on the ground," Bassam Ishak, President of the Syriac National Council of Syria, whose family itself is from Hasaka, told Reuters from Amman.

And as if people are not enough, now statues need to be beheaded also.

Iraq: Isis take sledgehammers to priceless Assyrian artefacts at Mosul museum

The Islamic State (Isis) has published a video showing militants destroying ancient artefacts in a Mosul museum with sledgehammer and pickaxes. IS fighters are seen unveiling old statues in the Ninawa museum dating back to the Assyrian empire and then dragging them down to the ground, where they fall into pieces. Then, they are depicted pounding 3,000-year-old sculptures with hammers until they are completely shattered. Tens of militants are seen using ladders, hammers and drills to destroy every statue in the museum, including a winged-bull Assyrian protective deity dating back to the 7th century BC.

"These ruins that are behind me, they are idols and statues that people in the past used to worship instead of Allah," a bearded IS militant tells the camera, with the immense, partially-demolished winged-bull in the background. "The so-called Assyrians and Akkadians and others looked to gods for war, agriculture and rain to whom they offered sacrifices," he added, with reference to the ancient civilizations that lived in Mesopotamia for more than 5,000 years in what is now Iraq, eastern Syria and southern Turkey. "The Prophet Mohammed took down idols with his bare hands when he went into Mecca. We were ordered by our prophet to take down idols and destroy them, and the companions of the prophet did this after this time, when they conquered countries."

"When God orders us to remove and destroy them, it becomes easy for us and we don't care even if they cost millions of dollars," he continues. A professor at the Archaeology College in Mosul confirmed to the AP that the two sites shown in the video are the city museum and a site known as Nirgal Gate, one of the several gates of the ancient capital of the Assyrian Empire Nineveh. "I'm totally shocked," Amir al-Jumaili told the AP. "It's a catastrophe. With the destruction of these artifacts, we can no longer be proud of Mosul's civilization."

The video, dated February 2015 from Mosul and posted on a Twitter account used by IS, comes after Mosul's public library director Ghanim al-Ta'an told The Fiscal Times that IS members burned the city public library, which housed more than 8,000 rare old books and manuscripts. "IS militants bombed the Mosul Public Library. they used improvised explosive devices," he said.

A history professor at University of Mosul told AP that Islamists began destroying the library earlier this month. Another report said 2,000 books were seen being loaded into pickup tracks.

Mosul is in the centre of 1,791 registered archeological sites, including four capitals of the Assyrian empire - Nineveh, Kalhu, Sur Sharrukin and Ashur.

They are not only given permission to lie, but ordered to do it, if it forwards the message and cause. They will hold hands today and set fire to the church tomorrow.

I wish more people like this would stand up and speak out. This is refreshing to see.

More than 1,000 people formed a "ring of peace" Saturday outside Oslo's main synagogue at the initiative of a group of young Muslims.

The event in the Norwegian capital follows a series of attacks against Jews in Europe, including the terror attacks in Paris in January and in neighboring Denmark last week.

One of the eight independent organisers of Saturday's event in Oslo, Hajrah Arshad said the gathering shows "that Islam is about love and unity."

"We want to demonstrate that Jews and Muslims do not hate each other," co-organiser Zeeshan Abdullah told the crowd, standing in a half-circle before the white synagogue. "We do not want individuals to define what Islam is for the rest of us."

"There are many more peace-mongers than warmongers," he added.

Norway's Chief Rabbi Michael Melchior sang the traditional Jewish end of Sabbath song outside the synagogue before the large crowd holding hands.

Co-organiser Hassan Raja said it was the first time he heard the song.

Ervin Kohn, head of Oslo's Jewish community, called the gathering in sub-zero temperatures "unique."

Several European countries have seen an increase in anti-Semitic incidents recently, starting when the conflict between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza intensified last year.

In Paris, three Muslim gunmen killed 17 people at a kosher grocery, the offices of weekly Charlie Hebdo and elsewhere in early January. Last week a single assailant in Copenhagen killed a Jewish security guard outside a synagogue and a Danish filmmaker attending a free speech event.
