Why are people freaking out about this when they didn't care about Rolling Sands (that was actually the largest military exercise in history) back in 2001? Rolling Sands went on without incident, martial law or any governors ordering their state’s guard to monitor what the military was doing.

My guess is the scale and the idea of training on civilians. But all of it stems from mistrust in the administration. If bush did this, it probably wouldn't be as much of a fuss unless it was northern states or California.Originally posted by DOHCTR View PostShit, I would be there tomorrow if I could get a damn visa.
But a military exercise is hardly a reason to freak the hell out.

And what's stopping you from getting a visa? You're in the perfect age range, good English, degreed, have spent time there...etc. I've always heard its easy to get a visa if you're "skilled labor", but thats always been from employers trying to convince people to go there.

No one is getting a visa, even if they meet all prerequisites. You have to prove that you're going to make a contribution to society that can't be matched through local resources.Originally posted by Ruffdaddy View PostAnd what's stopping you from getting a visa? Pretty much this. It is even hard for married (to an Australian), working people to acquire residency.Originally posted by Denny View PostNo one is getting a visa, even if they meet all prerequisites.
