In my mid 20s I was friends with a man who was in his late 50s and was a shrink. I respected the man a great deal and so did his peers. He told me one day that I was either the strongest personality that he had ever come across or that I was a borderline sociopath. I was very tickled by that statement. Unfortunately he passed away or I would still be friends with the man.

People will sometimes lie because they want something they wouldn't be able to get otherwise. The lying continues because the person craves the attention and thrill of getting away with it or in an attempt to manipulate the victim of the lies even further. Sometimes, they use "gas lighting," a technique where they convince others that their realities are incorrect and only the liar knows what "really happened."

My mom took me to a shrink when I was about 10 because I would hardly talk. After visiting with him for a few months he told my mom that I was the most brilliant child that he had ever met but I was a little bit strange. To this day she still teases me about him saying that. I suspect that both docs were right.

According to wiki, a pathological liar will likely stop lying for fear of being caught in another lie. If confronted with it, in front of a few people, multiple times. Maybe they're different types, but I need to try this on my brother inlaw. He could be SVO posting here, very easily.

Two of my RX-7s were in magazines but they were model specific magazines sold in Japan. They did a feature on our shop.

No; I had not planned on selling it. An acquaintance made an offer for it and I told her that I wanted 5k over what was offered. They are considering it but I am pretty sure that they will go for it.

I used the screen name svo855 long before I owned any of the other cars that I mentioned and just stuck with it. I bought my 85.5 SVO in 93'. I still own all of the cars that I just mentioned but the FD may be sold in the next few days. Many people would consider even a stock Porsche to be pretty fast and that is why I brought it up. No bikes and I do not plan to buy any again, ever.
