Its actually his son that wanted to work for Clinton. The email you quoted is from his son. Though the father has what appears to be close ties to them as well.

VERY SHADY. Podesta tells Cheryl Mills "we are going to have to dump all those emails so better to sooner rather than later."
Edit: this is early March 2015. Didn't Combetta magically realize he didn't bleach bit her emails around this time? Smoking gun?
Edit 2: Reports say Combetta had his "oh shit" moment in mid/late March 2015. Timing of this email is very suspicious.

DOJ slams Comey for announcing the second look in to Clinton's ordeal saying he may have broken a law by doing so. But Padzik telling Podesta of impending investigation is a-ok? Nothing to see here folks, move along...
