Sorry to stay on topic here...

1. Check the ducts if that has not been done.
2. Validate the vent/register is actually open all the way.
3. Also -even if a SWAG- validate the same amount of air is coming in that vent.
4. Get an IR thermometer (cheap enough and useful) and go over your walls/ceilings with it. I once found about an 4' x 6' section in a wall once that apparently had no AC at an old house. Never did fix it, but it helped explain the heat.

The booster fans DO help. I remember threads about them not being good and such, but they work. I personally do not care about any technicalities around it - since they are all minor and it works.
