Granite countertops: Recommendations?

Can you guys be more specific about the different "levels" of granite? I plan on doing this in my house, possibly next year. What is pretty average per square foot?

They're right on how much it ranges. It goes from ford focus to Ferrari real quick. We were browsing at a store and picked out 3 we really liked, till we heard prices... One was 47 per sq ft, one was 62, and 85. They were very similar in color too, just different patterns.

What I tell customers to do it go to lowes or surf around the internet and see what exactly they like. Then tell me what it is and ill work on the prices. Reason why the shit can be so expensive is because if they fuck up a cut we have to buy another slab. Plus they try to make a shit load off everyone.

Is marble "generally" more or less than granite?

All stones vary.. marble is a softer stone.. Typically used in the bathrooms.
