Good feedback for sure, I asked about the horizontals and he said one a 4' and another between that and the top, I went with a 14' roof, how high is yours? I paid $1400 for dirt work for them to build my pad for the foundation pour, it's pretty damn high, hopefully no flooding issues there.Originally posted by Rreemo View PostThey should've use a lot more dirt and raised my foundation more, it's so low in one of the front corners that I've had some flooding issues with all of the rain we've had this year...I'm going to have to do a French drain or something to fix that. The windows are also terrible, a couple of them were leaking really bad pretty much any time it rained. I had a hard time getting them back out so tended to them myself, and after several attempts I've just about got them sealed up....when we get a heavy rain, though, I still get a little puddle under one of them. The big thing that I'm not at all happy about is that they only put one horizontal c-purlin on my walls, at 7'....and I just didn't realize it at the time, but now that I've paid more attention to some friends shops, I see that I should've also had one running 4' height as well. Not just for the added stability, but it also gives you that extra shelf to put stuff. Their foreman also talked me into having my walk-thru door open outward, when I had already stated specifically that I wanted it to open inward...his reasoning was that it would seal better that way, and also the space that it takes up inside when open. What he didn't think about was the wind that we get out here and how much it blows that damned door around, being opened outside....and it also really sucks when it rains because the inside of my door gets soaked if I leave it open while it's raining...which then ends up all inside my entry way once I close the door. I'd much rather lose the little bit of space inside to have it open inward.

Hes right though about doors sealing. I specifically ordered an exterior swing french door for my house because of this.

YesOriginally posted by kbscobravert View PostReviving. Are you guys talking slab work combined with what these buildings have been costing you?
We are thinking about a 4,000sqft one so we can build out a 2,500 house inside and 1,500 shop/garage on a lot.

I've got to say I'm really impressed with how well the insulation is working out for me. When it got down in the lower 20's I had no heat source turned on in there for several days and it still stayed around 40 degrees in the shop.
The AC and furnace still aren't installed yet, but I've had a propane heater out there that will warm it up to a comfortable temp within about 30 minutes. Hoping to get the new system installed once we start getting some stretches of better weather.
You guys that are using TR, you'll be really happy with their work. For the first 3-4 weeks after they finished mine, Mark and/or Justin would just randomly drop by to check-in and make sure everything was good. The only issues that I had was a very slight leak in my roof and a couple of the windows leaked when we had a massive downpour out here - I didn't even have to call them, they fixed those issues on one of the times that they proactively dropped in.

I don't recall the foam price, specifically. I'll look at his quote a little later and see if he broke it out.Originally posted by beefed88 View PostWhat is the cost of spray foam??
**edit**
I looked and it's not nroken out.
