yea i was hoping for something in the 300 dollar range. It will get stripped and cleaned so im not super worried about aesthetics. I want to do a cb just because like you said, they're more popular so it should be easier to find used parts. You talking about that nighthawk in dallas? i saw that ad.

Well, I don't see it now. The only one I see now is a night hawk with no title.
I have been able to find all of my parts on Denniskirk.com and Z1enterprises.com for my '79. Ebay has covered my handlebar kit.
I plan on making my own rear sets from a newer crotch rocket.
Once I have it done for phase 1 I will start sourcing a 4 cylinder engine to build up and turbo. Then it will be a seriously badass cafe racer.

My dad used to build bikes, but he stayed with Harley, BSA, Triumph, and Norton. I have help from a buddy who used to run a Kawasaki Shop back in the 70's and 80's, which is why I went with Kawasaki.

If you want to build something slightly different...you could build you something out of this for $1200:
1980 CB900 custom looks to be in very good shape. Thats the one with shaft drive and a dual range transmission (10 speed). Motor is a DOHC inline 4..good for about 85-90 hp.

Why not just get that one titled?
