I agreeOriginally posted by Broncojohnny View PostIf someone has the right to do something in their front yard then they also have the right to do something in their front yard with the police doing a traffic stop in their street as long as they maintain a reasonable distance.
I really don't see what is so hard to understand about that.

While I agree it is there right is it really worth being arrested and wasted countless hours and possibly have something on your record?
I would've just asked for his badge number and escalated it. If that is effect or not, who knows, but sleeping in my bed and having a clean record is more important than some useless video and 3 minutes of possible entertainment.Originally posted by Cmarsh93zDon't Fuck with DFWmustangs...the most powerfull gang I have ever been a member of.

That's fine too, but that is a risk I wouldn't feel comfortable taking. It is a what if situation. All you need is a judge who doesn't see eye to eye with you or is having a pissy day to not side with you and you spent even more time and money for nothing.Originally posted by Broncojohnny View PostWhen she is done settling with the city I bet it is worth it.
What the fuck is the point in video taping the police anyways? I see a lot of these videos circling. It is sort of like when you are a kid and your brother asks you to stop touching him so you put your finger real close to his face and say I am not touching you.
Just seems dumb..Originally posted by Cmarsh93zDon't Fuck with DFWmustangs...the most powerfull gang I have ever been a member of.

Lets see, she has to go to jail, post bond $, pay a lawyer $$ and have a criminal arrest on her record for the rest of her life.Originally posted by Machx2 View PostI believe firing is enough. He won't work in another Police field again if he does. So that ruins someones whole life. If he has a criminal justice degree ect. then you are f'ed. He didn't arrest her on something she didn't do. He just went about the whole situation in the wrong way. I would have ignored her and just taken my time on the stop. She would have gotten bored and went inside. He is an idiot and the girl was a pest.
He gets a paid vacation until the investigation is done, then a reprimand or at worst fired from a job that only takes 45 credit-hours with a minimum of a 2.0 gpa.
Considering your occupation, we can see why you have that opinion.

Are you serious? Go search on youtube for "police brutality". Id say there is more than enough instances in the news and elsewhere, and that's just the shit caught on tape. Imagine how much other shit happens and there's no proof. Its to help keep them accountable for their actions, which IMO needs to be done. You think a cop is less likely to break the law if he is on camera? I would think more often than not, the answer is yes. Like the cops say to us, "if you have nothing to hide, then there is nothing to worry about",Originally posted by 347Mike View Post

When the recording started she was too close for comfort in my opinion. She was on the sidewalk, which is what three maybe four feet from the road. I have no idea what she said prior to the start of the video. But she seemed a little passive aggressive. Should she have been arrested, eh probably not. However, in Texas there is a law against interfering with public duties. Penal Code 38.15 if you care to look it up.
With that said, I would not have let her get that close to the traffic stop to begin with. She should have gone inside and continued filming. Hell stand in your doorway with the door open and film.
There were several red flags in the video and I will admit I am assuming a few things here:
He stopped in front of a friends house. The friend comes outside and according to the officer says something that made him fear for his safety. The friend gets too close to the vehicle, driver and officers.
Like I said I assumed a couple of things from what I saw on the video. But I will say this, you let people get that close and bad things can happen. Example: the wife of guy you are arresting for beating her ass follows you outside and decides to jump on your back because she doesn't want her husband to go to jail. Even though this is the third time you've been called to the house and every time she is bleeding. Been there, done that.
I am sure I will take a bashing for somewhat supporting the officer, but oh well.2007 Chevy TBSS

The chick seemed pretty reasonable, and I think more people should video police. Police need to be held accountable, and video is one of the only tools that we have to illustrate scenarios accurately after the fact. (hence why cops have dash cams). These cops deserve the knifing they get from some hood nigga. Abuse your power long enough, and someone's going to abuse theirs on you.

Dead serious. All the videos I watched they were wrapping everything up by the time they "confiscated" or detained the person.Originally posted by Pro88LX View PostAre you serious? I also don't live in the hood so I don't need to look out for brutality. I also am not in the mindset that cops constantly beat the shit out of people or are trying to hurt me. I have been pulled over more times than I can count in my car, a bike, and walking. I have received 1 ticket. One, out of all the times I have been pulled over.
I am a big believer in if you act right you don't get problems. If this went down in front of my house I wouldn't go grab my camera and start recording. I have more important shit to do. How about I come up to your job and record you? I am sure I will be asked to leave.
Yeah, yeah I know she was on her property blah blah blah. The fact of the matter is whether she was in the right or wrong in this she was responsible for her actions. And to me proving a point isn't worth goign to jail and having shit on my record.
Don't get me wrong. I think what the cops did was shitty, but really? For a lousy fucking 2 minute video you are going to waste a good nights sleep in your bed, in jail, fees, time and money AND work possibly.. You really showed them!
You will probably disagree with everything I said and thats fine. I don't get in trouble with the law so none of this applies to me and couldn't care less.Originally posted by Cmarsh93zDon't Fuck with DFWmustangs...the most powerfull gang I have ever been a member of.

She probably didn't assume she would be staying at the crossbars motel being that she wasn't breaking any laws. People do film me at my job sometimes, and it really doesn't bother me much. I just scratch my balls a lot more often when the red light is on.Originally posted by 347Mike View PostDead serious. The point I am trying to make is the cop said she would be arrested. At that point I would much rather not hassle with sleeping in a cell, fees, etc, etc, etc.... Is it right? No. But for the points I just mentioned none of that is important then. I would've asked for his badge number and handled it that way. What did she gain from this? Did she accomplish anything? No. It was one big inconvenience..Originally posted by ThreeFingerPete View PostShe probably didn't assume she would be staying at the crossbars motel being that she wasn't breaking any laws. Its not 100% of cops and its not 100% of the time. But it happens, and you're an idiot if you think it wont happen in a nice area.Originally posted by 347Mike View PostI also don't live in the hood so I don't need to look out for brutality. You may not have done that, and thats fine. But she did nothing wrong by filming. And If you're comparing filming private sector workers to public sector, that's not a fair comparison. You're not paying me.....you're paying the cops though. Public servants should expect for the public they're supposed to be serving, to hold them accountable.Originally posted by 347Mike View PostI am a big believer in if you act right you don't get problems. But the fact of the matter is that she didn't break the law and was wrongfully arrested, on HER OWN PROPERTY i may add. Its not illegal to film leos in most states (47 i believe).Originally posted by 347Mike View PostYeah, yeah I know she was on her property blah blah blah. But at the end of the day, you're just going to keep your head buried in the sand, blind to the things going on around you. Don't be surprised if that comes around to fuck you...
