Help me decide on which car

I have a 4L60e making 535/558 to the wheels in the GTO

John has a 4L65e in the wagon making 553/585 in his 4500lbs wagon

Both turbo 6 liters

The 4.8 and 5.3 use the same block and share the same bore size (3.78).
The 4.8 is a long rod short stroke motor which enables it to take alot of abuse compared to the 5.3/6.0.\

Good to know, didnt know they had the same bore on the 4.8/5.3(make sense though with the same block and different displacement though, )

Id love to do a mild single turbo setup on my 5.3 but the 4L60e wouldnt make it down the street with any real power

Those 4.8s actually stand up to boost really well.
Plenty of guys putting down 15-18psi with stock mls gaskets and studs.
The walls are so thick on the 4.8 they actually do better than alot of the 5.3/6.0ls with alot of boost. And luckily 4.8s are ridiculously cheap

Have to. Can't roll this old 332 for ever Little LS based motor will be much better. I'll just keep the hood shut ( prob won't but maybe )

Stop it! lol I spend a ton of money on the GTO because I kept doing exactly what you are trying to do.. well this sounds like a good idea, and while I have it apart I might as well... that crap gets out of hand haha..

it was only like $500 and I did spend $600 on the 20" F250 wheels that I put on it so we came out about each because he put a new carb on the Galaxie.

I built the Galaxie a couple years ago and traded it to this guy for his mustang, then traded the mustang for the Ex plus cash.

today I traded the Ex to the guy with the Galaxie and drove off with it.

short answer... I got the Galaxie back, plus cash

thats one way to make some money.
