    Luckily, the SCotUS outranks everybody.

Where is your tin foil hat.

FYI, I always keep a shovel and crime scene cleaning kit in my car, along with my throw down gun, and several varieties of naroctics (weed, coke, heroin, crack) for planting.

This should end the argument as far as the officer having no PC:

Sec. 521.025. LICENSE TO BE CARRIED AND EXHIBITED ON DEMAND; CRIMINAL PENALTY. (a) A person required to hold a license under Section 521.021 shall 1) have in the person's possession while operating a motor vehicle the class of driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle operated; and(2) display the license on the demand of a magistrate, court officer, or peace officer.(b) A peace officer may stop and detain a person operating a motor vehicle to determine if the person has a driver's license as required by this section.(c) A person who violates this section commits an offense. An offense under this subsection is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $200

The bolded text means an officer can make a stop just to see if the person holds a license.
Hopefully you don't have a case were they question your character.

This is how I was taught by my Father. I don't have any woman parts so civility and respect with a light hearted joke is the only chance I have of getting out of a ticket I probably deserved......

Why don't you come out on a ride along?

Be sure to tell your family that you are going to Mexico for a couple week vacation, it will give me time to hide the body. They got the idea for "Dexter" from me.....

It's definitely "Guilty till proven innocent" nowadays.

It used to be "For the people by the people". Govt. is supposed to work for the people, that went for law enforcement, being it local govt.
    LOL at "Protect and Serve"
Not saying all are bad, but seems the majority tilt that way.
I see cops all the time do rolling stops, speed through town, turn on the e-lights just to go through a signal and then just cruise.
    Woohoo go po po go.

Actually nowadays it seems more like "to generate revenue for the city".

With the camera off of course.
I used to like to watch the show Cops and others. I can't stand it anymore, you can see the arrogance and the above the law attittude in 85% them.
Most seem to think they are above the law and the constitution.

Law is written immediately but it is up to officer discretion whether to write the citation.
I travel until I feel safe to pull over. I understand the latter part of what you are saying with hiding things but it is a little silly when you think about it. It seems foolish as well to pull over immediately on the highway and have traffic in that lane slow down to 30-40 mph just because someone could be hiding something. Adding one silly rule though seems to open the book for 2-3 more silly rules...

When you are operating a vehicle on a public roadway it makes a difference.
Vehicle exceptions have been this way for decades due to the inherent high mobility of a vehicle and the ability to transport evidence.

Now if you were walking down a sidewalk, I just can't stop you and ask for ID.

When was this added? Just curious, as the gov't tends to change things under radar.
So according to the link above, some states still are holding on a little bit tighter to the Constitution than others?
