In this thread Brent will be playing Spike.

347Mike will assume his usual role as Chester...

Seriously Brent, I can tell you with certainty that my boys wouldn't be engaged in that type of activity. Whether or not you agree is your choice. Call me what you like, but I am absolutely certain that my boys wouldn't. Now, hopefully, I don't have to retract that statement in later years. lol

Nice to know you can judge my kids and how they would react in that situation, or determine what kinds of activities they would be engaged in though. Which field should I consider gearing their college towards?

Way to be oversensitive, Mike. I never judged your kids, nor said they would participate in something like this. But for you to sit there with blinders on, proclaiming your kids (young ones, at that) would never participate in such an activity, is arrogant and naieve. That holds true for ANY parent.

If you can't step back from your emotions long enough to see that your child is capable of ANYTHING, you're going to have some really rough years ahead of you.

My parents were awesome. Married for 51 years, raised in a loving, Christian home, where family was everything. Had everything I ever needed, and my father instilled a work ethic in me that most can't even wrap their brain around. That didn't stop me from being a complete and total waste of space in my teenage years. I made every bad decision imagineable. It's not that way anymore, obviously, but like I said, you can do everything right, and the child is still going to make their own decisions. I'm sorry you either can't see, or accept that fact. But you might want to work on that, because it's a fact, and there are MILLIONS of people out there that will back up what I'm saying. Look at Josh Hamilton.

Oh go fuck yourself dude. His statement was in response to mine. When you're able to read his mind and say with certainty what he was saying, come on back.

The lady got insulted by assholes, get over it. Watch the kids file suit for not getting part of the cash.

Being a good parent isn't all about instilling fear in your children. Sure, that is part of it, but there is a hell of a lot more to it than that, and the biggest factor of all, is luck, which you have no control over. As a parent, you teach your kids right from wrong. You teach them good from bad. You prepare them for the reality of life. But at the end of the day, all you can do is hope like hell that they take your advice and guidance, and become the person you know they have the potential to be.

Eh, I think the donation was a good idea and $50k, or even 100k was fine. It shows people care and get the poor lady from working, atleast for the next few years. But this is going to probably hit $500k seeing as it is just now getting attention. And that, is a bit extreme.

On the same site there are people asking for heart transplants and life changing surgeries...
