Which track to you go to? We frequent most of the dfw tracks with the SST 305s.Originally posted by redrocket5.0 View PostI go to the dirt track every saturday. The ASCA guys were here 2 weeks ago, some team from Texas came down and owned the track. An oil rig tycoon owned the team, they were all #11 cars, they made everyone look bad, finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I have the video, guys were insane on the track.

Sprints have been sprints for longer than that, before they were called sprints they were called "big cars" because they were an evolution of midgets to accommodate a larger engine. Wes, I'm sure you've met Johnny Suggs, he's been driving sprints since 1956. My father was 4....Originally posted by WesB View PostThey have been doing it for 50+yrs. Sprints started in the early 60s and became estremely popular in the 70s and stayed that way through the late 90s, but has taken a dive as the rest of dirt track racing has. I like just about any type of automobile race, but mainly like endurance racing. Unfortunantly there is not any tracks like that in East Texas.

To this day, dirt track racing is my favorite real life racing that I've been to and I have not been since my teenage years in MD.Originally posted by Torinoman View PostI've never paid any attention to dirt track before, probably still won't, however this makes me curious to go watch a few races. Not bad
IMHO, the long tracks are a lot more entertaining than the short tracks for dirt. Also, the Sprint type cars are entertaining - but the lower level (i.e. more amateur) races are extremely entertaining. More so than Sprints to me. A little less driving skills, more wrecks and a ton of position changes.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.

the side hoops on the chassis are built on the exact same fixture?Originally posted by Yale View PostNot an actual race car, but you could have a road going clone built. An actual sprint car chassis is built staggered, and one side even has larger diameter wheels than the other.pinto gt with wood trim

That isn't even close to street legal. I do think a clone with barely enough to make it street legal would be cool though.Originally posted by Z06killinsbf View Postsigpic18 F150 Supercrew - daily
