I would get another vehicle as well. Even if you have all the parts what are they chances everything is going to bolt up right and work first try? Nothing is as simple as it seems on paper.

What is the goal or this truck? Track truck or something to cruise?

Tried to get the front sway bar bolted up today. I found that the frame brackets are not the same as the ones for the blazer. I unfortunately didn't get the brackets when I got the bars from the salvage yard. So, tomorrow I will search for a set locally. Hopefully the parts department at the chevy dealer is open and has them in stock. If not maybe I can find some at a parts store

Sway bar bushings should arrive today. The stock bar is 25 mm IIRC. I am replacing it with a front bar from a 4 door 2wd blazer which is 33mm. It should make quite a difference in the way it handles.

I will cross that bridge when it comes. I feel that if all of the parts are ready to go, then it can be in and done in a week. I see no reason for it to be unreliable when I am done!

Eh....MAYBE. Not sure if $3k will cover a proper swap!

At 180k miles, the chassis needs some TLC. Front end will be reworked in the next month. Tubular upper control arms, tall ball joints, 2" lowering spindles, new bushings and lower ball joint, and a bigger front sway bar with new poly bushings.

The rear is getting 3" drop leafs. I may replace the bushings out back as well.

Then it is on to the rear end. It will most likely be an explorer 8.8 with disc brakes. They can be found in the same width as the 4x4 axles. It will be stronger and also eliminate the need for adapters in the rear for the vette wheels.

Hopefully that is done by the end of the year. Then it is time to start picking up swap parts. I will probably start with the harness and ECU. I plan to modify the harness myself. $150 for a stock harness plus the cost of misc wire and plugs vs $800 for a prefab harness. I can work on all of that while I am accumulating parts.

    $$$$

If the suspension and drivetrain can't handle it, it is wasted money

Ordered a prothane bushing and end link kit for the new 33 mm front sway bar. Hopefully I can get that in next weekend

If little issues don't keep popping up, this thing is going to remain a turd! No start situation this past weekend. Pulled the positive battery terminal and cleaned it up, problem solved. Went to leave work for lunch today and the same scenario. Inded up having to replace the center bolt for the terminal. (side post battery). Looks like it is time for a new starter lead.

On the plus side, replaced the fuel filter this weekend as well. The flex fuel 2.2L has a fuel pressure regulator integrated into the fuel filter. I guess the fpr in the one I had installed with the new pump and sending unit last year went bad. Since replacing the filter my check engine light (system lean bank 1) is no longer on. Maybe by the end of the year it will be on its way to polished turd status and I can start picking up parts for the LSjuan swap.

Today's Theme Tuesday is a direct result of a suggestion from the fanpage, if you ever have something you want to see don't be scared to throw out an idea. I usually get started right away so I don't forget. The use of Vette wheels seems to have slowed down some from late 2009 and 2010 but they still mange to show up in some of the darnedest places.

Lol. I like less work same results. However, that is exactly what I will end up doing
