My 92 Thunderbird SC was definitely a love hate relationship. I absolutely loved that car, but I have never had so much trouble keeping something running. Got it in REALLY bad shape to begin with. Body damage, rod knocking, etc. Tore the engine down, put a new crank in it, put a new set of rods in it, ARP main studs, ARP head studs. Ran great for about 3 months until I was coming out of a domino's pizza parking lot, I gunned it, hit a puddle of water and in a split second I over revved it. Got it home and it was knocking pretty good.
Tore the engine down, found nothing wrong, put new bearings in, put it back together and the knocking was worse. Went and got a gen II engine and blower, put that in and had a vibration from hell. Tried everything short of a flywheel to get it running right, finally threw in the towel and sold it.
