Can't you render aid to someone you believe to be in life threatening situation, even if no relation to said person? I seem to recall rape/murder being justifiable cause to draw down on someone regardless of relation to said victim

Yes if someone there watching could have pumped a few rounds into him to try and save the guys life. First you have to give him a warning to stop and if he continues fire away. At least that is how I understood the law when I took my chl class
