In Texas, deadly force is justifiable when used in the defense of another's life. So as long as it was reasonable to fear for the cops life, it would be clean.

The way he was kicking and hitting the cops head, then slamming it against the concrete, I think it would be reasonable for anyone to assume his life was in danger.

Yes if someone there watching could have pumped a few rounds into him to try and save the guys life. First you have to give him a warning to stop and if he continues fire away. At least that is how I understood the law when I took my chl class

Sure, maybe he's partly to blame for getting into an altercation, but that's not what this thread is all about. Heck, fist fights happen. People get knocked out. If that's all that took place, you could blame both parties and we probably wouldn't even be talking about it. This thread isn't about a fight. It's about a guy pounding on an unconscious man and clearly trying to kill him. And if you think that being an asshole is the only thing that can make someone a victim of a sick, violent piece of shit like that, you're a fool. Nobody should have to worry about these situations, but they still happen, asshole or not.
