Yeah, every company is a scam and every body shop is too!! Nobody can do anything right but the guys on this board!
So, are you saying that you would accept this as good body work?

Insurance companies are a fucking scam. Anything to save a buck. Same can be said for most body shops, as well.

i got lucky with my Speed3. They ordered a OEM bumper after my last one was scuffed up and warped. What a relief to see everything as it should be.

I have gotten fucked on a paint job before. Ended up with the wrong mixture for the paint hardener, and of course even the tiniest pebbles would gouge huge rock chips out of the paint. The car had more rock chips in a year's time than the car had 5 years prior, with less construction to drive in!

That is some serious bullshit. The QC that bought that off should be secured to the wall with sheet metal screws...sack first.

as a claimant or insured you can request OE parts, but it is not always granted. if you are the insured, you are having your car repaired per the policy/contract you have bought. so unless you have an OE parts only endorsement on your policy, your insurance company tells the shop what parts to use.

    there are always exceptions. always.

i say i laugh because there is always some asshole that comes in with a beat to shit car or truck with its own ecosystem growing in the cabin, requesting brand new parts on their never been wrecked car. and the victim role is always played to the maximum. when the idea that they can pay the difference is brought up, it is as if i walked into the naacp building with my iceberg uniform on.

When I had a wreck in my CR-V, the first time I went to pick it up, it had an aftermarket front clip that stood out like a sore thumb on top of the aftermarket QP not matching the hood line. I told them that I wouldn't accept it to which they said OK. They called Nationwide and explained the poor fit and said only OE would look correct and they OK'ed it.

    Nationwide is on my side.

Lest jammeejam forget, the shop is working for us, not the other way around. It takes 5 times more money to attract new customers than it does to keep existing ones. Do teh job right the first time and you won't be out your backside for parts and labor.
