i agree s2k motors sound pretty bad. muffler in the form of a turbo helps some.
i have a buddy with a very clean supercharged s2k and he keeps stock due to the sound of aftermarket exhausts.

Disagree. 9000 rpm with a turbo is not lame. Some of the best sounding racing engines ever made (Offy) were inline 4.Originally posted by Cobraman View Postno matter how cool it is, it still will sound like an s2k and that is lame.
He could really achieve baller status with a Hayabusa based V8... http://www.h1v8.com/28-bolt-v8.html

F1 cars do have relatively high sidewalls...they run 13" rims afterall. Obviously hes chosed form over function...so id guess that explains his tire choice.Originally posted by YALE View PostFloppy sidewalls don't corner. He could have bought some 555RII's and had a car that would turn well.

So this actually started as someone else's concept. The top one is a rendering and is intended to be mid engined (v8), but i don't think he has started building it yet.
This guy ran with the concept and started building, albeit a front engine i4.

Personally I'd put street tires on it so I could do AWD burnouts on the highway.Originally posted by YALE View PostMan, no. No they would not. If it were AWD, sticky tires that helped it corner would be way more fun.

overall the car is cool... it's unique... it's home built... obviously by enthusiasts... obviously without an unlimited budget
I guess I should put down the haterade for a moment and acknowledge that it's overall way fucking cooler than it is uncool

Would be sick if it was an AWD 1500whp car. Then the DR's would make sense.Originally posted by YALE View PostFloppy sidewalls don't corner. He could have bought some 555RII's and had a car that would turn well.

It looks like the radiator is in the back, so they are there for cooling. Could have radiused the corners and been much sexier.Originally posted by mstng86 View Postbut what if they are functional?

I tend to agree. Even though functionality > fashion. It would have taken quite a bit of more work, but a functional side scoop could have been integrated into a fully working door following the bead/body line at the top and would have even increase the amount of scoop. Little engineering, sure, but could have been done.Originally posted by BLAKE View PostThe side scoops dicating half-doors looks like an unnecessary PITA to me though.
Other than that. HELL YES! I'll take one in BLACK!
