I can tell a difference in how people perceive me.

Yeah the prrception is surely different...i dont keep it clean shaven because it makes me look younger for sure...people dont like taking direction from someone who looks like theyre in their 20s...so i have no problem making myself look older with some scruff.

You got really butt hurt over it really quick. Have a lot of people made fun of your attempts for growing a beard, so you went super anti beard? Or did a gaggle of hipsters stomp your ass outside a family owned coffee shop one day?

I think classifying beards as being hipster depends more on the individual. If they are waxing the 'stache into a handlebar mustache and otherwise following the hipster trends (skinny jeans, non-functional neon glasses, etc) then yes... But old fat dudes like most of us here, are just embracing the fact that hair grows there for a reason, so why keep shaving it!

Lol i can and keep a shadow at times but i dont kid myself into thinking thats a sign of a man. Actually, i keep my facial hair a little longer when i gain a few lbs to make up for a rounder face...and judging by this thread a lot of other people do as well lol.
