Back in the day a 13 to 14 second Imp would've been fast as hell to me. Mine ran a 14.97 at the Motorplex. Nowadays that's laughable. I'm pretty sure my F150 is faster than that now. It ran a 9.09 in the 1/8 th a month or so ago down at Cedar Creek.Originally posted by JC316 View PostI remember that someone had like a 10.50 SS, which is damned impressive for that big boat.

Not sure how fast it was, but UserX had the fast ass SS. My claim to fame is a T-56 swap.Originally posted by JC316 View PostI remember that someone had like a 10.50 SS, which is damned impressive for that big boat.
Mine ran a 14.2 at Ennis bone stock through a set of flowmasters and I thought I was king dingaling then. Not sure how fast it is with the T-56 and 383 as I've never had that combo on the track. Even if it's slower, the T-56 makes it feel fast.Originally posted by s1lv3r View PostBack in the day a 13 to 14 second Imp would've been fast as hell to me. Mine ran a 14.97 at the Motorplex. Had about 3 inches of play in the steering wheel that I wanted gone. Think that turned into a debacle? Started with the tie rods, the adjusting link was totally shot, ends weren't much better. Then I noted that the idler arm was pretty much shot, so I changed that... Then I noticed that the drag link had play by the pitman arm. Last the rag joint was shot....
Changing that rag joint with the help model, did that ever fucking suck.

That must have went straight on the car hauler and never moved again. If I recall, I read once, they all went on a test before leaving that would put about that many miles on them and if you happened to get one with more they had an issue at the factory corrected and retested or it had simply been test driven at the dealer.Originally posted by Gear_Jammer View Post
Maybe BroncoJohnny will chime back in and confirm or deny since he worked there and maybe privy to what went on with them after he welded the shit out of them, LOL.

Yeah, it's been a while since my last one, I remember why now.Originally posted by Blandnuts View PostRag joints usually make me want to murder an elephant.
That's awesome, but you don't dare put a single mile on it.Originally posted by Gear_Jammer View Post
Oh yeah, the A-frame bushings are cracking a bit. I am saving up for new control arms front and rear. Yeah, got all of the slack out, drives a whole lot better now.Originally posted by s1lv3r View PostProbably doesn't require saying at this point, but a car that old and you're looking at the front end might as well do it all and have a piece of mind. Especially if I'm going to be sharing 175 with you, LOL.
Did you get all the slack out?

I just spotted a burgundy one sitting out in a driveway in Venus today. Weeds grown up around it and looking neglected. If I see someone out I will hit them up. I use to loveeeee these cars but now I am not as into to them. Holding their age pretty well though.Whos your Daddy?

Mine ran 10.80's with a stock short block, ported stock heads, a big cam and a 200 shot. My best time on motor was a 12.1. I think I would have enjoyed the car much more had I went with a T-56 instead of a TH400, the three speed really killed how the car drove on the highway and limited how far I could drive it.Originally posted by Grimpala View PostNot sure how fast it was, but UserX had the fast ass SS. I think the most impressive thing about it was how it would 60', my best was 1.51 and I could cut 1.5x pretty consistently.
