Straight out of the gun! Maybe some of the best clear I have laid down! I leveled the clear out on the FD100 before reclearing. The Aventador is 2 coats of clear. It will get the same treatment, leveled and re-cleared
The Aventador is shaping up nicely. The Hobby Design PE kit really kicks it up a notch! Metal brake rotors, all of the mesh in the body ducts is photo etched metal, so the toy like look of the kit decals will be gone!
This thing is just dead sexy! It is a damn shame the paint work isn't perfect! Oh well. This is my first conpleted kit that isn't "american". 99% of what I build are Revell and AMT kits. This is an aoshima and the fit/finish is in a whole different class. Hell, there is even a piece for the headliner to hide the injector pin marks...
It has all of the pieces to display the doors up and the "hood" open, though there isn't a ton of detail to show.
Time for the push to get ready for the Showdown March 2nd in irving. I have 9 builds I hope to take. All of which, before tonight, had some sort of touch up, detailing, or polishing that needs/needed done. I will be taking some pictures and posting the completed builds. Tonight, the 64 thunderbolt. This will be entered in the straight line competition class. I added some window markings, they are not to scale, but, they are visible. I also added some dzus fasteners to the hood and a coupel of window decals.
Trying to slam this one out before March second. I have placed in the pavement competition every time I have attended the showdown in the past. I decided to shelf the McLaren for now, as I just don't have the time to do it justice. I have a Dale Sr Coca Cola car I'm hoping to finish but I thought I'd throw this in the mix. Consider it a fantasy build. I was afraid the RainX decals would be junk due to age. I will probably cut some new numbers from bright yellow vinyl and add some mild detail.
