If the quality of the song is greatly reduced through the mp3 format, why would you need truly bad ass earphones? Can they bring the lost quality back?

And Geor, DAMN! No way in hell I could bring myself to cut loose with that kind of coin on a set of buds...

Unless you're a tightwad and compress the crap out of them with a small bit rate, they will still sound much better on good hardware. I bought these pieces and they sound great together. Even with mp3's.

I have the Studio Beats for my home CD's and for my phone. They fucking rock and are NC too. I tried the Beats tour, but they were not for me, couldn't get them to stay in my ears. If you like it loud and clear, the Studios are the way to go.
