So it was like an automatic update that fixed the issue? I'd agree with the last post, its a common problem, and Roku's aren't very expensive. Just use that for netflix

Yep, that appears to have been the fix. If it happens again I will go to a roku. It has only happened once that I know of since I started netflix streaming a year or two ago so it isn't a major concern for now.
