Even the Dawn of the Dead remake was pretty good. Wouldn't consider 28 Days Later a zombie movie (rage virus) but it's pretty close. Preferred 28 Weeks Later more than 28 Days. 28 Days Later had that boring middle part where they go grocery shopping and than camping before it got good again.

I still think this is one of the best zombie movies ever:

oddly enough that movie breaks the conventional wisdom of most zombie movies.

- the zombies talk
- the zombies are cognitive in that they can plan traps and use simple tools. Example the one zombie using the police radio to send more brains/cops
- The zombism affects the dead and the living. The buried and cadavers all return from the dead
- the zombism can affect animals, as illustrated with the dog
- that zombies feed on brains
