X-Men: Days of Future Past will be at the center of one our most anticipated panels at this year's Comic-Con, but it turns out, we didn't have to wait until Saturday's Hall H panel for the big reveal. The above photo, taken outside the Hard Rock Hotel facing the convention center in downtown San Diego, reveals the robotic menace that we've suspected for a while would be at the center of the new X-Men films-- the Sentinels. Standing in front of the logo for Trask Industries, the corporation that created the Sentinels, this helmeted head confirms another piece of what's looking like a complicated plot for the new X-Men film, which unites characters from both Bryan Singer's original two X-Men movies and 2011's X-Men: First Class. Check out a few more images of the exhibit in the gallery at the bottom of this post.
The mini-exhibit also comes along with an ad for the viral site Trask-Industries.com. So far it's just a shadowy robot head along with an ad for the exhibit itself in San Diego, but what do you suppose are the odds of it getting bigger and more interesting between now and the conclusion of the Con?
We've had our eye on the Sentinels ever since the sequel's titled was confirmed to be Days of Future Past, the same as a 1981 run of comics that introduced an alternate future, in which the Sentinel robots have been created to hunt mutants down. Kitty Pryde-- played once again this time by Ellen Page-- travels back in time to warn the X-Men about this future and help avert it, and though rumor has it that it will be Wolverine, not Kitty, sent back in time, the Sentinels still seem to be at the center of the drama. If this robot head isn't scary enough for your on its own, consider that all signs point to Game of Thrones superstar Peter Dinklage playing Bolivar Trask, who invents the Sentinels. You may not want a bunch of giant robots on your tail… but you really don't want Peter Dinklage with a villainous mustache added into the mix.
We're hearing that a huge number of the X-Men: Days of Future Past cast, along with Bryan Singer, will be on hand in Hall H for Saturday's panel, and given this Sentinel tease it's seeming very likely that we'll see the giant robots in action. You might think it wouldn't take a lot of work to get a Comic-Con crowd excited for a book based on comic characters as famous as the X-Men, but these guys can be tough customers. X-Men: First Class didn't even make an appearance at Comic Con before it came out, perhaps worried about lingering backlash from X-Men: The Last Stand or even X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which was the last X-Men movie to appear at the convention. They've certainly bolstered themselves with as good a cast as they could ask for and the return of X-Men and X2 director Bryan Singer… but you never know. Saturday is a stacked day in Hall H, and not everything can knock it out of the park. Does X-Men: First Class has what it takes? Come back Saturday for our liveblog to find out.
For more on X-Men: Days of Future Past you can click here. Despite all our speculation, this one-sentence synopsis is all the official detail we've gotten: "The X-Men must travel in time to change a major historical event that could globally impact on man and mutant kind."

Information on two characters added to the movie.
Although the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past is technically a sequel to 2011’s X-Men: First Class, it is also both a prequel and a sequel to 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand. Because of that, the cast has been something of a mystery.
We already know that both James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart will appear as Professor Xavier at various points in the characters life, as will Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellan, who will both play Magneto.
Also appearing from the movies set in the present day will be Hugh Jackman to reprise his role as Logan/Wolverine for what will be the sixth time, Halle Berry as Storm, Ellen Page as Kitty Pride, Daniel Cudmore as Colossus, and Shawn Ashmore as Iceman. From the First Class cast, Nicholas Hoult will return as Beast and he will be joined by Jennifer Lawrence, who will return as Raven. No word on whether their current day counterparts of Kelsey Grammer and Rebecca Romijin will appear.
That makes for an impressive and sprawling cast that makes the Avengers ensemble look like a solo act, but there’s more. Based on a video clip tweeted by from director Bryan Singer (and subsequently caught by Newsarama), we now know of (at least) two more mutants that will be appearing.
Along with many of the expected names, the video also shows the names “Bishop” and “James ‘Warpath’ Proudstar.”
Although Warpath is a bit of a surprise, the character of Bishop isn’t. In the comics, Bishop comes from an alternate future where the robotic Sentinels rule the world, a plot line that the film will hint at. Bishop was initially part of an authorized mutant police force under the Sentinels, until he followed a criminal back in time in a manner that only makes sense in comics, and eventually joined the X-Men, determined to stop his future from happening. Since then he has been both hero and villain, so it will be interesting to see how the character is portrayed.
With the plot heavily influenced by time travel, having Bishop appear in some form makes sense and it also explains who recently cast French actor Omar Sly (pictured right) will play. Both he and Booboo Stewart (who will presumably play Warpath), were announced but their roles were not confirmed. Likewise, actor Peter Dinklage’s role has not been confirmed, although it is expected that Dinklage will play film’s primary villain.Last edited by idrivea4banger; 04-25-2013, 11:39 PM.

‘X-Men: Days of Future Past‘ continues to bring back some old cast members from the original trilogy as today director Bryan Singer confirmed what we all hoped: Colossus is back! One of the best parts of ‘X2′ was the raid on the X Mansion by Col. Stryker’s team with Wolverine and Colossus coming to the defense of the rest of the kids. We still remember sitting in the theater and hearing the whole crowd go nuts (think Hulk in ‘Avengers’) when actor Daniel Cudmore transformed into the metal-bodied Colossus and threw some dude through a wall. So needless to say we were pretty excited today when Bryan Singer announced he’d be returning.Considering how integral a part Colossus plays in the “Days of Future Past” comic storyline – he’s married to Shadowcat/Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page) who’s essentially the lead character – it’s no surprise that Singer made sure he’d return. As has been the case throughout pre-production, Singer announced the news on Twitter via a photo of the cast tacked up on their office wall with the caption “Now let’s blow s**t up!” If you’re keeping track (and as you can see in the photo below), ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ stars Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellan, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, Peter Dinklage, Nicholas Hoult, Halle Berry, Shawn Ashmore, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender.
[UPDATE: Now confirmed, the two mysterious faces in the photo below are Fan Bingbing and Boo Boo Stewart ('Twilight'). The Hollywood Reporter says Bingbing is playing Blink, a relatively lesser known character but were originally told that character was Psylocke, which makes a lot more sense. Is Singer trying to keep the identity of that character secret? No word yet on who Stewart is playing in the film.]‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ hits theaters on July 18, 2014.

Mel Gibson hasn't been a badass in 10+ years. Now, Bruce Willis? Yippee kiyay, motherfuckers! But I like Jackman.

you're crazy. he fits the character too a T. he is short, hairy, and grumpy. What else do you need?Originally posted by Jewrrick View PostI don't even know how I missed this. I read it and at first thought it was the dumbest thing I ever heard.
I then pictured them putting the claws on Mel and whispering in his ear "Now just pretend they are all Jews." This would make a FANTASTIC SNL skit.
Granted he would have been better for the part say 15 years ago.
