How long would you leave a gun at the gunsmith?

Some people really love those Nylons. (me included) My buddy gets an offer on his every time we take it out. No shit.

Mine was a Christmas present from '88 and is my first gun. It was purchased from a pawn shop for $75 and is a Nylon 66 Black Diamond. I have seen them at gun shows in far lesser condition going for north of $500 all the way upto $800. I have an ex in Shreveport whose dad has a brown one with the chromed barrel that I have been begging him to sell it to me.

Well I got in touch with him today and he said it should be ready next week; there are 3 guns ahead of it right now. If I weren't going out of town for a week on business I'd go ahead and pick it up but since I will be gone I'll go ahead and give him an extra week. This is the last time I used a gunsmith and probably the last time I go to this gunshop; I used to like going there but after this it does not make me want to go back. Hopefully he doesn't charge me out the ass for it.
