Dee, as thin as his neck and face are, I'd bet 2.5-3.5. He could have just had a hard year since it's been so dry up that way.

If he had that hard of a year he wouldn't be that heavy bodied since all we put out is corn and what little acorns we have just recently fell. At least that's the way I see it, last year was very evident of that everything looked rough until the winter rye and wheat came up.

Why dont you guys build your feeders with the shooting house attached?

You know ironically I've never shot a deer under or close to my feeders, they have always been on trails going through my shooting lanes. All that could change since I have been bow hunting more the last few years.

seen a small buck tonight. Going to park my car in another spot. I think its keeping them from making their way over.

As i spooked a few on my way out. Only problem No real place to park it on the road. Unless i want to walk a 1/2 mile.

IMO walking in is the best thing to do, I walk in almost a mile and see more deer than if I drive or ride a four wheeler in. Me and my dad have always walked but the other guys always ride their four wheeler's (now Rangers) and don't seem to see near the action but they are too lazy to change.

not around these parts. Ive walked in to my stand only to watch them from bino's walking right past my car haha.


They are used to it around here for the most part, but these deer knew something was up.

I wonder if they are less affected by vehicles since you are close to an abundance of public land, therefore they are exposed to human contact year round.

some of my herd if you go slow you can drive within 50 yards of them and they dont care.

Not surprised damn things are getting bad these days. The guy I work for on the side has had them in his flower bed after he used pecan hulls for mulch.
