Well, I guess it's time for the mandatory inquiry on who has the cheapest case of #7 shot this year.

Year before last I bought a case of 7 shot from academy for $39.00 and last year I bought a case of federal 7 shot for $29.00

I split a large shipment of shot up with some people which helps, besides those are my trap(12g) and skeet(20) loads so I'm not loading anything special just stuff I already have.

All my 12g stuff is 1 1/8 oz of 7 1/2 shot with two different options in powder. My 20 is 1oz of 8's

I don't bother to load dove rounds, it's cheaper just to buy them (well probably not since I have a shitload of 7 and 8 shot) but I only found buckshot to be worth the time to hand load.

I use 7 1/2 and use a full choke. I try not to shoot them to close or it destroys them haha.

Same setup I use on my 1187. I also have a double barrel 12ga I use for shits and giggles.

Wonder how the wind is going to be. I usually shoot 7 1/2 but if we have some <5mph winds I might use 8 shot.

Also, quail is white meat and dove is dark meat. Both tasty!

I do that too also usually take off the Friday before opening rifle season starts for deer, too.

It is in my area we even stayed out of school to go hunting opening day and wouldn't be asked a question since it was a well know fact.

I did the same thing, lol. hell I even take that day off of work every year if it falls during a week day
