Never said I want to fight a tyrannical government, just what you need to do it. And Australia is more free than the USA according to the Global Freedom Index:

And SIGNIFICANTLY more free economically accoring to the index of Economic freedom:

So I am going to a country that is more free than this one.

here is a 2 second search....

Once again, this Barnes bullet and the 6.8 continue to impress me. This hunter is my most frequent return client and he has bagged a trophy 6 years straight. I have been scouting this buck all summer

Ceyko, you're kinda correct in me being a dick to get a rouse out of the group, but I strongly feel no one Needs that shit for the stated purpose. I am so sick of the gun right extremists acting like they need this shit. My point lines up with slow06, it's regardless of need. There should never be a law just because you don't NEED something. Laws should not be made for a feel good factor. But when people say they need an AR to hunt, all any non gun owner thinks is "great, we've got loads of white trash that needs 30 rds to take down what they're aiming at". Let's call a spade a spade here...and we've got to stop making gun owners look like fools to the media. Have some restraint.

By no means am I anti gun...hell I just bought another semi auto shotgun tonight. I just hate that I can't buy any decent handgun ammo To help the lady practice for the chl class because people stockpile like retards. I hate that people buy everything off the shelves to extort the situation.

Ever try killing 10 pigs with a bolt action rifle? No, you didn't think about that. I'm sorry you don't know enough about hunting to understand why someone needs it. And the fact you feel compelled to spew this ignorant shit without knowing what you're talking about really pisses me off. You simply do not understand what the second amendment is about. Fundamentally your argument would not exist if you did, it's as simple as that.

    .
apparently you have not picked up a hunting magazine lately. They are becoming more and more popular because they are a lightweight, versatile rifle that has no problem reaching out and touching just about whatever you want to with it and will also get you out of a pinch if a pack of hogs/wolves/ or anything else that wants to eat you.

Oh.....but one really quick and simple example of a trophy buck hunter that loves using his "assault rifle" is Ted Nugent.

I hunt deer with a bolt, only because I hunt in more than 1 state and some states (actually a lot) it's illegal to hunt with a semi auto rifle. I would hunt with a semi-auto rifle if I could. To clarify, I'm under no illusion that I'll unload 50 rounds at some buck that's running. I would not mind having 8-10 rounds of high caliber ammo for a bear that maybe pissed because I'm in his/her area. Mainly because of cubs.

On the flip side, as soon as deer hunting is done here in TX - I walk around and do everything else with my AR. When it comes to boar and coyotes, I feel nothing negative about firing a lot of rounds at them when running since they are such a hassle to a lot of people. Of course, I'm aware of what shots are safe and what are not.

There are viable uses even for hunting, around these different rifles. However, none of us should have to justify our position for these guns as it is our RIGHT (to me, more concrete than a need/desire) to have them.

I concur that some pro-gun folks could debate/argue our cause in a more mature and level headed manner. However, I generally try to worry about things that are directly in my control or area of influence.

Which is part of my problem, I feel my right to guns is being changed and is mostly out of my control. Which this will lead us down a nasty path long term when people feel that they have 0 control using methods available to them. This is an emotional reaction and politicians (both sides) are disgusting to me using people's ignorance to guns and emotions to push their own agenda.

Understand, I'm not saying anything about personally being violent. I'll just understand where people are coming from when their rights are being trampled on. Also, if some of these rumors are true - it's truly f'ed up to steal family heirlooms and so forth that just happen to be guns.

Regardless if you're opinion is correct or not. Controlling guns likely won't help anyway and will only hurt the common citizen (which at least 99% of this board is a common citizen) in my opinion.

hahahaha exactly. I need it so i can put a fucking round into every elitist cocksucker that tries to take away my rights.
It's also the perfect rifle for when hunting hogs and you come upon quite a few.......but Fluffdaddy wouldnt know shit about that since he is 100% city slicker.

So the long and short of your position is that you're pissed off that you can't get semi-automatic weapons cheap and you can't find cheap ammo because everybody else is buying it up at high prices?

Sounds like you should have bought the shit earlier if you WANTED it. Because we all know you don't NEED it.

You know, i was about to say you dont need a chl, a taser would work, but then i had an epiphany. We should move to this need policy across the board. We are already instituting laws based on people having "too much" money. We as a people can't allow that to go on, take that money. Too much gun, take that gun. Too much magazine, same. Heck, how about too much ammo? I know plenty of people that have more than they need. Those same people have too big of a car, and sometimes more cars than they need! Those things are dangerous, have you seen the statistics on auto related deaths? Horrible. Too much booze, too many kitchen knives, dear god, how is anyone still alive? We should just call a spade a spade and push towards regulating this stuff before the media paints each group as a fool. I say we let the media decide what this country is about and direct all new policies regarding overeaching government control.
    :sarcastic rant off:
