Well...at least a couple others have the fortitude to leave CO:
A second Colorado-based company is moving to Laramie.
Maverick Ammuniation, also known as Ammo Kan, announced Tuesday it will be moving from Littleton, Colo., to the Gem City.
Fort Collins, Colo.,-based HiViz Shooting Systems, which manufactures fiber optic sights and recoil pads for firearms, announced plans to move to Laramie last spring. Last week, the Laramie City Council approved a design contract with Groathouse Construction Inc. for the new HiViz headquarters at the Laramie River Business Park II.
Maverick Ammunition manufactures target-grade ammunition and ammunition for hunting. It also manufactures tactical-grade ammunition for use in law enforcement. The company’s product line includes well-known shooting sport brands such as Hornady, Nosler, Lake City and Berry’s, according to a statement released by Maverick Ammunition CEO Curt Perry.

repost from the other thread. It only took them a year.Originally posted by Lone Sailor View Post"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

So the other larger companies that moved in half the time were just lucky or something? My comments are in regards to the fact they withheld their moving locations for a year for the expressed purpose of creating drama/suspicion.Originally posted by Lone Sailor View PostAh, yes, they should have just moved as quickly as possible and not put all the thought and logic into it to make sure they were measuring twice and cutting once. Maybe they were trying stockpile product by continuing to run the current plant until everything could be secured for the new facilities. I'm sure if they would have cut loose and then been behind in production with massive backlogs of product everyone would be screaming about how they moved to quickly.

Why would that have any effect on announcing?Originally posted by Lone Sailor View PostMaybe they were trying stockpile product by continuing to run the current plant until everything could be secured for the new facilities. A move like can easily affect investors whether privately or publicly traded. People seeing a move may worry about whether or not the company can continuing profiting at the same rate. It also may upset the workers as to where they were going. There's a ton of logistics involved in moving a company. The last thing they would want to do is simply lay out a map and blindly choose a state just so they can make an announcement.

First of all it isn't publically traded, and the investors are going to be the ones making the decision to begin with. The map thing is fucking ridiculous. The only valid point in that paragraph is about workers, and they announced immediately they were moving states - and for production workers that means about 80% of them knew they were losing their job. I'm going to use Colt as an example. They announced shortly (two weeks) after state laws changed. And they are a hell of a lot bigger operation. I personally believe Magpul did this as a publicity stunt. They filed for their Texas tax/business permits nearly 6 months ago. We can all theorize, but I'm pretty damn confident that is the reason for all of this drama.Originally posted by phaux View PostA move like can easily affect investors whether privately or publicly traded.
