So if I know I want to get a couple silencers and build an SBR still would it work to just buy 3x tax stamps now and use them once I get to it? Or will it be like the post office and I'd have to add the extra $300 somehow?

They don't just give you stamps to apply to whatever it is you want. An it can't be retroactive.
(3) by adding at the end the following: ‘(9) a semiautomatic pistol chambered for cartridges commonly considered rifle rounds, configured with receivers commonly associated with rifles and capable of accepting detachable magazines.’.
So does this mean AR pistols will now be NFA items as well?
Looks like it, assuming this passes (which it won't). It's just another example of the crap they keep shoving down our throats until they get something. They probably could have gotten away with it if it were not for the 50% excise tax on ammunition. With this bill they are trying to get too much too fast IMO.

So I have slowly been working on an AR pistol. Does this mean if I complete it and the bill passes it will be illegal?
