    my experience is 5.45 is usually quieter than 5.56 with a 5.56 can, a lot less gas than 5.56.

      I guess most of it is a personal preference for the AR form factor and also the thought of being able to swap an upper and shot 5.56mm. If the price is right, I wouldn't mind a folding stock AK74. How easy are they to mount an optic to?
