lol, if I were you I might make a light hearted satire of one of their recent products ambiguously poking fun at their failure to move. I would bet many people would get a kick out of it."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

Except for all the ones that have moved.Originally posted by David View PostPersonally I think all these companies that were threatening moves were all blowing smoke for sales.Originally posted by lincolnboyAfter watching Games of Thrones, makes me glad i was not born in those years.

I vote yes. I wouldn't attack them directly, but attack the behavior that some companies have displayed over the last 12 months. Places like Areo Precision that were gouging consumers during the run on guns, MAST for producing ammo in an unsafe manner so they could sell it under the Blackgun name for a insane "marketplace" markup, Magpul for doing nothing after they profited off the Boulder Airlift initiative, Cheaper than Dirt for continually price gouging like it's cool.Originally posted by DOHCTR View PostShould I publish an article tearing them a new one? Total dick move, but fuck 'em.

I found Magpul's new 870 furniture to be comfortable, easy to use, aesthetically pleasing, and a peculiar resistance to moving out of state."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

You mean Remington? Their new AZ facility is quite nice. Four or five big names have moved including PTR, Kahr, ATI, and Colt Competition. Maybe more, but those are the only ones I can name off the top of my head.Originally posted by David View PostI guess I should have worded that better. How about ones that have some clout.Originally posted by lincolnboyAfter watching Games of Thrones, makes me glad i was not born in those years.

Colt is still HQ in CT, Remington in NY. Kahr would possibly be a ok big one. PTR I wouldn't consider having clout and I have no idea what ATI is.

And Apple is still HQ in the US but all the manufacturing jobs went to China. When you send your workforce to another state economy, you're making a statement.Originally posted by David View PostColt is still HQ in CT, Remington in NY. Kahr would possibly be a ok big one. Didn't AR15.com move their home from NY to the DFW area also?

I am a fan of most of the Magpul furniture but I have just as much Daniel Defense or Samson stuff at the same time. Their spacegun 870 shit, not so much. I do admit to owning a bunch of their Pmags and will further admit to continuing to purchase them when I find a deal. However, I do not hunt down the latest generation, most of mine are window-less, from 2008ish and that is fine with me.

It does disappoint me to see companies like that play on our strings. It is not like they needed to pull a stunt to market their stuff. Unless I have not been keeping up with the times on ARFCom and Magpul is out and Lancer or ATI is in.Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I agree with this statement, mostly. They are giving the local economy the jobs and the income that comes with it. I am no tax expert but doesn't the businesses income get reported through the state their HQ is in? Say HQ in Washington state but manufacturing in Texas: Texas gets the jobs and their incomes along with inventory taxes (I would think) but the accounting is done in Washington where their tax liability is less.Originally posted by CJ View PostAnd Apple is still HQ in the US but all the manufacturing jobs went to China. Partially. The employees are still paid in Texas, and do not pay NY state income taxes, etc. It also depends on how the entity is set up, some are subsidiaries, s corps, and some are separate entities. I don't know much about it honestly, it's over my head, but I do know that many companies that manufacture in Texas try to keep most of the income/capital within the state as there are some tax shield laws Texas grants.Originally posted by kbscobravert View PostI agree with this statement, mostly.
