Quick opinion on NFA forms.

I'm actually wondering if this is legal or not. To my understanding the NFA CLEO sign off purpose is for local law enforcement to check their records for any felonies or disqualifiers that the federal level may miss or not have access to in their database. But local law enforcement tacking on additional requirements for a federal process?

The rush is that you shouldn't have to wait a fucking year to get a stamp.

True, though I am not concerned with the wait as much as I am as to the "why". Though I am sure some of the holdup is the surge in applications, it cannot be ignored that our incompetent government is also dragging its ass and the motive (reason) behind this could be more disturbing than waiting a year for a NFA stamp.

They refund your money and you reapply via paper.

I plan on submitting paper forms anyways until something more solid comes up (e-file). I would hate for my app to get tied up in the E-File system just to have June 1st come and go and I am no longer able to get NFA items (Dallas Co).

IMHO, just submit paperwork and plan a trip next year...wont hurt unless you know you are going to die between now and then, whats the rush.
